Prom & May Ball Shoes

Prom and May Ball season is around the corner, so it’s time to get outfit planning! Take a productive revision break, and select your dress (I’ve got a blog post for that here) and then choose your matching shoes and bag (blog post is here)!

As always, I’ve included investment designer pieces, as well as high street dupes. I always recommend buying the high street version first, to try and test with outfits, and then if you find that you wear them lots, invest in the higher end piece!

MACH & MACH

We’ve all seen the iconic Mach & Mach heels grace our instagram feeds over the last year… and there’s no denying they are a showstopping (or should I say “shoe-stopping”) piece. I’ve found a few good dupes, if you’re not yet ready to invest in the real deal.

SHINY

Prom and May Ball is the perfect time to whip out your most glitzy and glittery heels. You can’t go wrong with a pair of silver shoes- they’ll elevate your outfit from ordinary to wow. If you’ve decided to opt for a dark, plain silky, dress, so you can rewear it more often, then go for a pair of glittery shoes to add a bit of “wow” to the outfit. Also, spot the Louboutin “Hot Chick” dupe!

PLATFORM À LA VERSACE

Another iconic shoe which has suddenly exploded over the past few months – the Versace Medusa heels. These satin platform pumps will not only add a whopping 15cm of height, but as they are chunky, they will also make your legs look slimmer. The thick platform means that you can add height without compromising on comfort too much.

TRAINERS

Anyone who has been to a May Ball knows that once the cameras turn off, the sneakers come on! You won’t catch me in heels past 11pm … However, trainers can still be fashionable and you can add height. I bought my McQueens years ago, and the cost per wear is probably less than the price of a Flat White at this point! The trainers add height without being too chunky and bulky – which is perfect when I want to still keep my outfit on the elegant side.

As always, let me know your favourite shoes and what recommendations you have! Keep an eye out for my Prom bag post! Lots of love, Jo xoxo
