Back to the office? Interning in the Wharf? Stuck for coffee ideas bar the usual commercial chains? Craving something new? Find out some of my faves below! They’re great places to suggest for your next networking drink.
Having spent a significant amount of time living and working in the Wharf over the past few years, you can be sure that I have searched every nook and cranny to find your much needed caffeine kick. However, what I do love about CW recently is that the foodie scene just keeps expanding! So, do let me know your coffee bucket list faves so I can try them the next time I venture to this mini New York!
Lots of love, Jo xoxo
TAYLOR STREET
Now closed & bought by Black Sheep, Taylor St was my go to & will forever be a favourite! No Canary Wharf post would be complete without it!
BLACK SHEEP
As well as coffees, Black Sheep have yummy smoothies to enjoy on a hot summer’s day!
CHANGE PLEASE
Delicious coffee & with a strong social enterprise at its heart! Profits from each cup of coffee go into training those who are homeless to become baristas! AND they are paid the Living Wage to ensure their pay is fair!
NOTES
A classic. A staple. If you’re commuting in, grab a Notes by the tube barrier! Wanting a longer lunch stroll ? The notes at Crossrail is perfect!
MOUSE TAIL
Further out but it’s worth the trek to their cute little van in West India Quay!
OLE & STEEN
Cinnamon Social anyone? Sweet, sugary & a summer treat! You simply cannot get a coffee here without grabbing this decadent pastry! It’s always been my favourite – ever since I discovered it at lunchtime in June 2018.
JOE & THE JUICE
Okay okay technically a “chain” but Joe and The Juice’s coffee is a hidden gem! Refreshing smoothies & juices AND delicious coffee!
CROSSTOWN
Decadent donuts? Check. Vegan options? Yes. Artisan coffee? Yes! CT use caravan coffee beans so you can be sure you’re sipping on a delicious flat white!
BRERA
If you like super sweet, frothy coffees then Cafe Brera is the place for you. Team with their creamy avocado toast – topped with vibrant figs and feta chunks, it’s a lovely little lunchtime dish!
