I’ll be trekking up North this weekend to see one of my close friends for brunch, coffee, a shopping sprees and a MUCH NEEDED meet up. We met on insta and joke that we have been living parallel lives – from fashion, to food blogging, corporate life, views on work-life balance, workouts and much more!

Here’s a selection of some of my Manchester brunch and coffee bucket list cafes!

Let me know what your favourite brunch & coffee places are so I can add them to my bucket list! Lots of love, Jo xoxo

FEDERAL CAFE & BAR

Federal has graced my instagram discover feed with its presence, and I can’t stop thinking about it since! The lemon meringue French toast looks like a dream – innovative? Is that even a question? Soft French tostados is topped with a zesty lemon meringue and juicy strawberries and strawberry coulis – a perfect bank holiday treat.

As well as “treat yourself it’s the weekend goddman” dishes, Federal also serve up acas bowls, pecan, maple syrup & banana porridge, and nutty granolas – lovely light & healthy brekkie dishes.

ANOTHER HEART TO FEED

“WOW” is an understatement. Another heart’s menu is filled with healthy brunch dishes – there’s too many to pick from.

The chai spiced homemade granola is great for a morning boost.

Or, opt for a delicious avocado toast – perfectly mashed and fluffy avocado rests on t-h-i-c-k Pollen sourdough! Combined with a vibrant pink beetroot hummus, feta and pistachio dukkah, you really are on to a winner.

Carving something lighter? The menu also features a selection of salad dishes – think kale, tender stem broccoli and avocado !

FOUNDATION

Aussie brunch and antipodean coffee, I’ve hit jackpot! Team your avocado toast with a flat white & Oat M!lk. Foundation use Origin Coffee Roasters’ beans, so you can be sure you really are getting some of the best coffee around.

ERZA & GIL COFFEE PROVISIONS

This astonishing cafe was recommended by my friend Mara as the “best brunch in Manchester”. And Damn! Look at that avocado. Lime green avocado rests on toasted bread, topped with crumbled feta, red peppers, rocket, red  onions, and, of course, a poached egg! Yum yum!

CARAMELLO OF DIDSBURY

An instagram lover’s paradise. If you’ve got a sweet tooth and are looking for some eye candy, caramel is THE place to go. The Biscoff French Toast looks like it just fell down from heaven. Homemade brioche is covered in Lotus Biscoff mascarpone, a sprinkle of cinnamon dust and Biscoff sauce. This is not for the faint hearted.

If you’re craving something equally as aesthetic, but on the savoury side, I’d recommend the smoke salmon on toast. Smoked salmon and cream cheese rest on a bed of spinach and toast, topped with a sweet yellow flower!

HAMPTON & VOUIS

Manchester really does have a yummy foodie scene doesn’t it? This cafe offers the most decadent pancake list you can imagine – think Lotus Biscoff pancakes,  The Nutella & Bourbon biscuit stack, the Pistachio stack, the Jammie Dodger stack…… are you in WIlly Wonka’s chocolate factory?

If you’re craving something on the healthier side, I’d recommend the açai bowl – think blended frozen açai berries and almond milk, topped with granola, mixed berries, coconut, pumpkin and chia seeds.

The charcoal bowl also sounds yummy and right up my street – activated charcoal is combined with frozen acai berries and topped with mixed fruit, coconut and seeds.

JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS

Antipodean vibes – flat whites in ceramic cups & fluffy pastries

POT KETTLE BLACK

“Antipodean coffee and brunch with a northern accent” – this place is high on my must see coffee list. Look at that latte art!
