A quaint neighbourhood nestled between Victoria, Sloane Square and Knightsbridge, Belgravia is also home to a few hidden brunch gems! If you’re in the area, be sure to enjoy avocado toast at one of the below cafes.
Happy Brunching! Lots of love, Jo xoxo
TOM TOM
A cosy yet bustling brunch spot in the heart of Belgravia, Tom Tom is a homely coffee house nestled in this quaint, tranquil neighbourhood. The eatery boasts an autumnal atmosphere with seasonal decor at the window; a large dark wooden oval table takes centre stage, next to a bright, large bay window, which faces the neighbourhood crossroad. It’s the perfect place to people watch and daydream as you tuck into your coffee!
MORENA
All Day Breakfast? Yes, P.L.E.A.S.E! If you love brunch food like me & are craving avocado in the afternoon, then Morena is the place to go. All-day breakfast served until 5pm. Morena is the dream of 2 Colombian sisters, Juliana and Valentina who wished to bring freshly roasted Colombian coffee and flavours to London. Morena is also a roastery, serving light and airy coffee, complementing the Latin American brunch dishes, which will excite your taste buds!
Love avocado? Love matcha? Love them TOGETHER? Morena’s Avocado Toast 🥑 perfectly marries creamy avocado with a matcha hollandaise sauce, to create a Matcha Made in Heaven! The creamy avocado smash rests on charcoal bread, creating a pleasing green and black contrast for the eye. Salty smoked salmon rests on top of this heavenly bed, whilst a poached egg acts as the cherry to this must-try dish. Thick and creamy matcha hollandaise sauce is poured over this showstopper, creating the signature taste.
TIMMY GREEN
An Aussie oasis in the heat of Victoria, Timmy Green is THE place to have brunch in the area! Timmy Green is definitely one of the larger Daisy Green restaurants. A large glass room, with a lush green interior and an alfresco terrace create a fresh & airy paradise! Make sure to reserve a table in advance because Timmy Green is extremely popular!
A truly delicious menu, you’ll definitely be coming back the following weekend to try more dishes! Smashed avocado seems to be so ubiquitous nowadays but Timmy Green’s is served with a tasty twist. Served on charcoal toast, the perfectly smashed and smooth avocado is topped with Aleppo chilli flakes. To add a further twist to the mix, the smashed avocado is combined with labneh, to create a perfectly smooth and creamy consistency.
LOCAL’S CAFE
A fashionable hotspot in the heart of Chelsea. The cafe is enshrined in greenery, which is juxtaposed with stainless steel shelves, to provide a modern, trendy twist. However, it’s easy to feel as though you’re brunching in a quaint Italian coastal village.
If you’re in the mood for a decadent treat you NEED to try the Locals’ delicious Pumpkin Pancakes. Be warned – this is a filling dish & I certainly would recommend splitting this divine dish among friends. “Sharing is caring” after all. A stack of 3 homemade pumpkin puree pancakes sit centre stage & an almond caramel is drizzled over this heavenly stack. A sprinkling of almond biscuits adds a crunchy twist to this filling treat.
PEGGY PORSCHEN
Famous for their baby pink facade, Peggy Porschen is a whimsical palace in Belgravia. The pastel colour palette creates a fairy-tale ambiance, inviting you to try the carefully crafted cakes! The cupcakes are the cutest treats – from the red velvet hearts cupcake (my personal favourite) to the chocolate heaven cupcake with little pink beads, to the cookies and cream icon, you can be sure you will be in love at first bite! Of course, Peggy’s large layered cakes cannot go amiss. If you’re a chocolate lover, then the Dark Chocolate Truffle Cake is a must!
GREENSPEARES
Greenspeares is a wholesome neighbourhood deli in the heart of South Ken, serving fresh produce and groceries, sustainably and seasonally sourced from British farms. Organic avocado is generously and lovingly spread on toasted brown sourdough, to create an Avocadope paradise. This creamy dish rests on muhammara, to add a spicy, twist on a traditional brunch classic. Hazelnut dukkah, lime, chilli and pea shoots finish this dish off perfectly – creating a feast for the eyes. Team with a perfectly poached, runny egg to flood to plate with a sunshine orange puddle.
CAFE KITSUNE
A Paris-meets-Tokyo cafe created in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, cafe Kitsuné’s London branch is the perfect location for this wholesome, ‘millennial elegant’ cafe. “Maison”, French for House, and “Kitsuné”, Japanese for “fox”, is a symbol of versatility.
COFFEE ADDICT
Founded by Nina, Coffee Addict is a cute cafe just moments away from Victoria, this is a great place to brunch if you love aesthetic cafes. A pink flower wall takes centre stage, contrasting well with the electric blue bar stools and silver marble table. Framed in a pink frame is a quote which I shall be using whenever someone questions my coffee addiction- “Caffeine isn’t a drug. It’s a vitamin!”
On my foodie bucket list:
- Atis Salad Bar
- Baker & Spice
- Wulf & Lamb (This has been on my list for many years….)
Hope you enjoy these iconic cafes in Belgravia! As always, let me know your thoughts and recommendations in the comments below. Lots of love, Jo xoxo
