Today’s post shines the light on elegant dresses to wear for work Christmas Dinners, events & corporate functions. In my opinion, there’s a fine line for corporate work out of office event outfits, so here’s a selection of fashionable and festive, yet elegant and timeless, pieces to wear for your festive dinner and beyond.
SELF-PORTRAIT
Created in 2013 by Malaysian-born and Central-Saint-Martins-educated designer Han Chong, Self Portrait intwines elegance with femininity in a fashionable yet timeless way. The flagship store on Albermarle Street is a cute hidden gem, designed with Casper Mueller Knew Architects to create a modern luxurious feel; I’d recommend visiting to truly bring the brand to life.
Han Chong has a strong desire to support future generations of creative talent and this is highlighted through the scholarship program he launched in 2018 with Central Saint Martins to support 5 students to complete their MA degree.
DRESSES
I love the sweetheart-neck dress with floral lace detailing and crystal embellished straps. The long length means that it is great for evening balls and parties.
Another elegant number is the diamanté trim tiered midi dress- here. The chiffon-esque material with pleat-detailing creates a gorgeous texture, whilst the diamanté’s trim bodice adds a shiny evening touch.
Veering off the black theme, this light pink dress with diamanté’s-trim detailing is divine (here) – I love the little cutout at the bottom too. Perfect for date night.
JACKETS & CARDIGANS

I am IN LOVE with this bow-embellished black skort- here . We all know that my wardrobe houses every Maje and Zara skort under the sun, and as soon as I saw this Self-Portrait black skort, I knew it had to be added to my collection. The silver detailing is unique and adds a gorgeous evening touch to the piece.
Team the skort with this gorgeous bow-embellished crop top (here) for an evening statement outfit. I am so tempted to wear this for NYE with a pair of black heels with shiny silver detailing.
I also love this black skirt with large gold button detailing (here ) – great if you have more gold accessories than silver.
