If you’re looking to start your designer bag collection, but are unsure where the begin, then the YSL Cassandre Envelope Chain Wallet bag is a great piece to begin your new collection.
FUNCTIONALITY
With a flap opening and snap closure, the YSL Cassandre chain wallet provides easy access to your key essentials. Inside, you will find 6 card slots, so you can easily organise your bag. There’s 1 main compartment, where you can fit your phone and favourite lipstick. There’s a zipped compartment at the front where you can store your items more securely – I like to put my flat key here.
What I love about this bag is that it comes with a removable strap so you can wear it crossbody, on one shoulder, or as a clutch- it’s a 3 in 1 bag!
DESIGN
Released in 2014 under Hedi Silmane, the Cassandre chain wallet is an elegant and timeless piece which is a great entry level (and beyond!) piece.
The grained embossed leather means that the bag is very durable – it’s easy to clean with a damp cloth and is less prone to scratching.
I also love the iconic chevron pattern, which makes the bag stand out in an elegant way.
PRICING
At £870 (November, 2022), this piece is extremely well-priced considering the quality, fashion house and versatility of the bag. If this is your first piece, I’d opt for the noir bag (here) – you can wear it to evening dinner dates, quick lunches, and if you’re popping to grab your coffee of the day whilst WFH. Black is likely to go with any and every outfit! The black-gold-hardware combination will instantly elevate your outfit to the next level.
