Viktor & Rolf Bonbon: My Signature Scent

My signature scent. 17 bottles later… and I’m finally writing a blog post on this breathtaking perfume. Yes, I keep all my bottles. And, yes, my bathroom shelf looks like a trophy cabinet.

A couple of spritz of Bonbon and you will be wrapped in a deep, delicious sweet scent! Viktor & Rolf have hit Haute Confection on its head. The main caramel, blackcurrant and orange blossom notes will have you dreaming of a Christmas Candy Store (I mean, I was born on Christmas Day, so this is an apt fragrance for me)…. It’s truly is tempting enough to eat!

EAU DE PARFUM

When I first discovered this scent back in about sixth form (read: 8-ish years ago?!), I was instantly hooked. Created by Cecile Matton and Serge Majoullier and launched in 2014, my mom gifted this delicious perfume when it debuted- I was so excited to wear a new and unique scent, and I’ve been wearing it since. Bonbon’s scent is no ordinary fragrance; it’s a delicately sweet scent intwined with floral and woody notes, meaning it is not too overpowering or sickly sweet. This unique combination of notes means that it can easily be worn day and night.

Unwrap the pink Bonbon bow to reveal a truly indulgent and luxurious perfume. Top notes feature mandarin and blackcurrant, which perfectly complement the orange blossom and peach heart notes. The blackcurrant and orange blossom combination is the winning recipe for a truly addictive scent. The syrupy caramel notes add a further dimension to this scent, making you wish that the perfume is edible!

What I think makes this the winning formula are the light woody undertones: think faint woody cedar, a tinge of burnt amber and slight sandalwood notes. These notes echo in the background, perfectly toning down any fairy sweet smells.

Resist it if you can…

Haute Confection! This fruity fragrance has a sustained longevity. Even 7-8 hours after I have sprayed this scent, I can still smell it after. It’s definitely worth every penny – from the iconic bottle, to the delicious scent to the sustained smell…. It’s clearly a winner.

BONBON COUTURE

Bonbon Couture is the intense version of the original Bonbon parfum. Stored in a frosty, light pink bottle, with more of an opaque touch to mirror the denser fragrance. The extra touch of Neroli Oil, Patchouli and Jasmine add a slightly more floral twist, whilst creating an intense fragrance.
